Halloween is over and it is officially my favorite time of year! The holidays are in full swing and if you are anything like me, you give yourself a free pass to indulge in all the delicious desserts and holiday treats until after New Years. Well this year I’m going with a different approach. Instead of accepting the “inevitable 5 pound weight gain” I’m going to live by the 80/20 rule. This means I will be eating clean and working out 80% of the time and allowing myself to enjoy pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, and wine 20% of the time. It’s all about moderation and I am determined to go into the New Year without feeling like I’ve packed on those extra holiday pounds!

The nutrition plan revolves around a portion control system, using color-coded containers to properly plan out your meals. It helps you calculate exactly what portion sizes to eat, as well as maintain a healthy balance between proteins, fruits, vegetables, carbs, and healthy fats. It’s very simple to use, and very effective!
